Armada 7800 Bios update / DVD firmware? where can i get it? (LOST)

I just installed a 'new' 12gb hd in my armada 7800 put XP Pro & Office 2k3 pro...

(300mhz PII 128mb ram w/ dvd player no floppy drive)

and ive been trying to get the dvd player to play dvd's w/o skipping...

Does anyone know where i can find bios updates? Compaq's driver listing SUX0RZ for this laptop..

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/allfiles.html ive searched thru this page all day and DL'd the one I think is for my SR-8171 dvd player but it says i have to have some previous bios version before i can install it...

whenever i hit F10 to get into the bios it doesnt work...*sigh* HELP!

yep tried that it didnt work says its the wrong version when i try to update the bios

mine is the Armada 7800 Family 6300/T/8000/V/0/3 w/ Microsoft Windows XP....

arg this is bugging me
