So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...

i downloaded and installed. i did not have DX9 installed so i did so. now everytime i reboot, receive "Windows has recovered from a serious error" message at login. i sent the report in and MS analyzed it as "Error caused by Graphics Device Driver" this is bull****. any suggestions since DX9 cannot be uninstalled?
in the batch of games that 3dmark runs for testing, the first one flies through at 50-90fps, the second game creeps along at 1-10fps, the third game kills the 8887 completely, knocking it into 640x480 at 16 colors with an error message stating "Windows has recovered from a serious error, reboot your machine now"--paraphrasing on this one...
don't know if this info will help in getting to the root of the problem without having to remove DX9
gr8...Did you dload 9.0b? Make sure its the latest version also, I know its simple but, check system restore as it may have a restore point before you installed 9.0. But I have a feeling it isnt directx....also which drivers are you using?
it is most likely just a driver problem for the vid card, but I would restore the laptop to a date before you put in dx9 Screw the directx as no programs besides 3dmark03 require it really.

HUH!?! Every new game out there requires DX9. Remember, DX9 is much more than pretty graphics. it controls sound (Direct Sound) which almost every game uses. It also controls your joysticks, and network components. Even if a game is not DX9 graphics, it could very well require the new runtimes for input and sound...
hehe Im sure you will I heard theres new omega drivers based on cat 3.7 which might help but I havent ventured that far...just toying with games right now...jedi academy cough*warez* runs awesome on it...So does Secret Weapons and thats what really matters
Well its not out till the 16th and yeah Im a big fan but its still based on the q3 engine so no surprises there, actually just seems like an extention of jk2, but its fun playing with the different saber styles...multiplayer is fun as siege is entertaining. Siege is an objective based game where you have different classes along with the jedi. Heh its fun playing on hoth assault when your an assault stormtrooper and set up the E-web which is a mobile cannon mounted on a tripod as seen in Empire Strikes back. Again my copy is warez, and I dont normally do that as I thought I was downloading the demo only to be surprised its the full version...which I will be buying on the 16th ( order is waiting in ebgames hehe ). So I do recommend it....only complaint is the saber duelling is kinda hard to get used to online but the moves are gorgeous
just trying to understand why my 8887 is incompatible with DX9. these problems rear their ugly arses every single time i've installed it. have tried multiple reformats and reinstalls of windows but with same result.
is this an issue that could be addressed when i RMA my machine back for the vid controller probs?
