Thread Starter
I have a dell Inspiron 5150 and the battery doesnt seem to charge in the laptop, I have tried charging the battery with other laptops and it will charge fine but will not charge in my laptop. Is there some kind of external charger i can get to charge the battery? or maybe a new motherboard or something?? Can someone help me out??
Thanks Alot

I also have that problem, when I plug the AC adapter in it wont charge, or power the laptop at all

I don't think there are external chargers anywhere for laptop battery. Check the connectors if there are any particles that might me blocking the copper wires. Remove the battery and try air blowing the terminals. (canned air better)

Get yourself a multimeter from radio shack and see if any power is comming out from the AC adaptor. If power is comming out than check all termals and connections. And if that does not work it is not hard to charge the battery manually (just have to be very carefull not to pust to much current). Just grab an ac adaptor that matches the dell one, srtip the wires, and tape it to the battery terminals. I did it for a cell phone battery once (I put it in a plastic box to be safe) and it worked perfectly.
