Im one of those few windows users the have that one thought of getting an apple because it will do what they want it to do very well. I want one because they are for the people who do video editing, digital photo editing, web browsing, and word. Im vaguely thinking about it but have some horrors in mind.

1. It will be too hard to use the mac and its OS
2. I wont be able to buy the programs I want. Or download.
3. I want to play a few games on it but what if I cant find that game in a mac version( counterstrike and the sims 2) but i have a desctop for that right?
4. It wont perform the way I want it.

I want one so bad and wish you could put windows on it.
I love the look, and love the way that they are made for the things I want.

I was in the same boat a month ago so when I got tired of my sony s260, I sold it and bought the 12" ibook with the proceeds. The os takes a little to get used to but once you do it becomes as easy as windows. I liked the os and included software so much that I returned the ibook and purchased the 15" powerbook. If you take the plunge, you wont be dissappointed. I did a lot of research before I purchased the ibook and read alot about pc users who switched and the mass majority of them were very happy with their decision.

Get a book for Mac OS X. David Pogue writes some good books for Mac. Read it. I think you could learn everything from that book. It's quite thick but you'll learn a lot.
I don't think there's a Sims 2 game for Mac YET. But it is in alpha status. Here's a link. http://www.insidemacgames.com/news/s...rticleID=10811

You mean Virtual PC from Microsoft? Well, you can use it on you Mac but it won't be fast. It will be pretty slow, not as fast as the real thing. Sometimes it will be painful to use it on a slow machine. Any more questions?

You're the first person I've heard that wishes you could put Windows on a Mac, the whole point of buying a Mac is to have OS X instead of Windows.

here's what you should do, bc i was in the same boat. go out and buy a mac mini, and if you don't like it RETURN it. but i am betting if you buy it you will keep it. bc i was so hesitant i ordered and cancelled several times b4 justgoing through with it. try that out and see what will happen.

but youhave a desktop for windows stuff, have the mac for a certain purpose. then if you find out there are alot of programs u need you could eventually switch.

i like some mac hardware if it wasn't that damn expensive, and if the 15 and 17 pbs used bigger keyboards and had a 2 button touch pad. however, i trully hate OS X, which is kind of ironic since its basicaly linux and i switched to linux 97% at home (i'll be lucky to spend 1 or 2 hours in windows xp a week)

It does. OSX version 10.3.5 and up allow total interoperability between X and XP. At work, I transfer files from our Dell Optiplex's all the time to take home and work on on my IBook. So far so good, so those fears can be rested. As far as switching.......Take it from me, a 15+ year user of PC's and a recent 2 year user of MAC's........MAC wipe XP all over the ground if setup correctly. Every program and UI is 2nd grade level intuitive. I had never used a MAC before, and bought one for the "Curious" factor, and I will say that XP and Bill Gates have some catching up to do. I just wish I could repartition my HDD on my new dell listed below and install OSX and RedHat Linux in place of XP......If you do buy it, I dont think you'll be disappointed.
