Just realised my card was underclocked by Acer.

ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, 64MB

Stock: 452/209
Tweaked: 452/263

Actually it's not considered overclocked, because that's what ATI specified the card was capable of (450/260). Correct me if I'm wrong.

3DMark2001
Stock: 11,155
Tweaked: 12,604

3DMark03
Stock: 2790
Tweaked: 3309

3DMark05
Stock: 584
Tweaked: 646

Not that much of an improvement, but still comparable to other systems with the same card when I checked the 3DMark database.

I'm getting 6850 on 3dmark 03 with the x700 now.

how did you manage that?
400 core / 385 mem. If you've read the other overclocking thread you'll see that one person has his at 7200 on 3dmark03.

Just run 3DMark05 benchmark. The score is 2207 for my ACER Aspire 1691 WLMI, Pentium M 730, 1.6 GHZ, 512 RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon X700 128 MB, 80 GB HDD@4200 RPM.

Is it good?
If I'm not mistakenl, the Acer 1691 only has the ATI Mobility Radeon x600 and not the x700.

The fact I have ACER Aspire 1691 WLMi with ATI Mobility Radeon X700, the spec is clearly written on the sticker on the laptop and also I checked the spec for the driver in the device manager, it is clearly written as ATI Mobility Radeon X700 128 MB.

Thread Starter
just checked on the Acer UK website:

Intel® Centrino™ mobile technology with Intel® Pentium® M 730 (1.6GHz, 533FSB), Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition, 512MB (2*256) DDR, 80GB HDD, DVD-Dual RW - Double Layer, 15.4" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite TFT display, ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 with 64 MB of external DDR video RAM, 56Kbps modem, 10/100/1000 LAN, Intergrated wireless LAN (802.11b/g), Bluetooth, Li-Ion battery, Aspire Arcade, 4-in-1 card reader, Microsoft® Works LX.A4305.180

Acer Australia website also publishes the same spec for Aspire 1691 WLMi, except ATI Radeon X600 with 128 MB (http://www.acer.com.au/acer/akc/port...&current=15.4&).

I ordered that product but maybe I was lucky to get it with X700 installed.

Here in Germany, there are actually 2 different versions of the 1691, one equipped with crystalbrite and x600 and one w/o cb but with x700.

beware its in german, but the description is 'understandable'

3Dmark05: 2269

My 8104 was running VERY stock with a lot of background processes, but I'd say your 8103 is looking prettttty good. Link to my benchies.
I have just bought an Elettrodata Nev@da SX-482 (an Italian brand that sells a Clevo M400A with another name)
simply opened the parcel et voilĂ :
3Dmarks: 5942 pts

CPU 1,8
HDD 80 GB 5400 rpm
1GB Ram /400 MHz (working at 333 because of the bus, I guess)

whats the difference between free version and pro? Do u get different scores?
Hi,
Is the 750 chip less battery hungry compared to the 760 chip? The benchmark numbers here on page 1 are neck and neck for both chips. Not much difference between the 8103 & 8104 except an extra 512mb ram, which costs roughly $50. Basically i'm finding that its not even close to justify a $200-250 price margin between the 8103/8104.

Thanks,

Kvit

What you say is what has been reported by users of the 8103. A little less memory but pretty much same performance. The extra $200 for the 8104 gets u bragging rights and not a whole lot more.
