Desigining own graphics card for 9100/XPS - Page 3

Yo ppl ,. We shouldnt start to insult each other. Just chill.

I know this project is quite a bit of a challenge. But we might aswell try. Most of you will think that the easiest way is to just unlock the pipes. For me it seems very inpractical since it probably has been secured by ATI.

I just want to try to compare this to Ipods. At the beginning a large amount of people exctracted the firmware of the ipod from the installer. A lot of people have been triying to modify it, so they would be able to change the operating system of the ipod. BUT the firmware was encoded so it was basically impossible (still is).

Someone else in www.ipodlinux.org decided to just completely start from scratch without looking at the existing IPOD OS. Reverse Engeneered the whole Ipod and created a linux system on the ipod.

I hope you try to see what i am coming at.

P.s please do not start to insult each other .. And dont discuss about Ipodlinux

Children always try to insult others using bodily references...and come off looking stupid. You're not an exception.

The bottom line is that this is NOT going to happen. Fired some emails off to NVidia and ATI? "Please, can I buy one or two chips to try and make my own video card?" How quickly do you think they're going to hit the delete button?

This is about as "doable" a project as building your own car by calling Ford and asking them to sell you a few parts.

Morons.
I guess it's true, he does have a tiny pecker........lol

No, if you must know, I don't. But I won't be sending you any pics, which is what you must be after, seeing is all you can think about is the size of my penis.

Get a life and grow up. Why don't you at leas TRY to act your age? Of is is because you're actually a child? If so, your parents should restrict your time on the computer.

For someone hyping about maturity in the first place, you come off as completely hypocritical. Way to go.

There are much nicer ways to tell them that this project won't be easy, but hey, give them a break, it's their idea, no matter how insane it is. So honestly man, calm down.

I say go for it, boza, don't listen to them. Even if you fail, you will still learn a lot of things. The important thing is not the destination, but the journey.

Exactly! Now that is words of wisdom. Thanks Karoloydi!
Once again Boza, if you can get the chips and the specs I can get the card and connectors made.

I hate fags like Hotstuff that spamming this forum with their negativity and putdowns instead of constructive criticism. People like that have never and will never have anything in life, so Boza don’t worry about his spam, if you can get your end done I will get mine done.

Well I actually am a fourth year EE student, and I think I can safely say your completely insane. You will need access to extremely expensive equipment to even have the faintest hope of this working, and it will likely cost you a ton of money. There is no way you can hope to convert an AGP card to a minAGP card with no electronics experience. I'm trying to get you back into reality here, hell I have taken 4 years of EE and I don't even remotely thing I could do it. Try picking up that nice $199 Electronics kit the other guy mentioned, it will give you a good look into what it's all about.
