Installing ram ?

Just bought a home computer would like to put more ram in it has ddr ram is it ok to install to 1 256 with 1 512 thank's in advance

Yes - but make sure you buy the right kind of RAM.

E.g. If you have PC2700, buy PC2700 as it will run at the lowest speed you have (i.e you'd be wasting money buying 3200 or higher). You can probably find a RAM selector by searching Google that will tell you what speed/type of RAM to buy for your specific model of desktop.

i dont think you can run dual channel though with 1 256 and 1 512 assuming you have a dual channel motherboard.
