Well after six month posting on these forums, and three months before then just reading, I finally got a notebook!

I have purchased the Asus Z71V notebook on pre-order from Integrated System Technologies. The founder of the company, Rick, has been incredibly helpful in answering innumerable questions that I had. Thanks Rick

Below are the specs of the configured notebook I have purchased:
  • Processor: Intel 2.0 Ghz Pentium M (Sonoma), 2MB Cache, 533Mhz FSB
  • Hard Drive: Hitachi 60GB, 8MB cache, 7200rpm
  • Memory: Samsung 1GB (1x1GB) DDR2-4200 RAM
  • Video Card: PCI-E nVidia 6600 (128MB)
  • Optical Drive: Dual-layer DVD-RW
  • Wireless Card: Intel 802.11 a/b/g
  • Battery: Smart Li-on 8-cell battery (x2)
  • OS: Windows XP Pro
  • Warranty: Three year manufacturers warranty
  • Other: USB floppy drive, extra AC adapter, auto adapter,
Total price: $2383.89 USD (or $2948.60 CAD)

What to you all think? See any things you don't like? Inform me!

I'll be sure to write a full in-depth review with lots of pictures. If you have any requests for pictures, tell me here, and I'll take them once I receive it.

Congrats on the purchase! I'll be getting a similar system shortly, but I'm still deciding between the Acer 8104 and the Asus Z71V. I can't wait for your review!

Yikes, I just realized I own none f those games, or any new games for that matter, cause my current notebook just can't handle them! Is there any program to benchmark with those games without actually owning? Like a stress-test or something similar?

But I have some other games (CS anyone?) that I will test battery life with.

I used to buy every single new game when my laptop was good. I would spend something like $50+ a month getting the new games. I was the OFFICIAL GAMING FREAK
