Such as Uniwill 259IA, the ATI9700 is unclocked. You could get around it using the Omega Drive and bring the clock back up.
This laptop uses a Nvidia 6600 Go. Maybe you are thinking of a different laptop?

I did my configuration at all 3 locations and got the best price at Integrated.

Dont forget the brand of RAM and HDD do change the price. Not to mention method of shipping if he included that.
My price includes the Samsung RAM, and the Hitachie HD (only 7200rpm drive), as well as the shipping to Canada from the United States. It's a pretty sweet deal

I just looked at the Acer 8104, and the two laptops are really quite similar. The only performance-affecting difference (as of right now) is the x700 vs the 6600, and I'm sure AnandTech or TomsHardware will have some benchmarks between those two sometime. (Go nVIDIA!). Other than that, the Acer is lighter, but the Asus is thinner and has greater battery life. Either laptop looks great, but Asus get's my business mainly for the battery life .

Hmm... just checking out some threads about the 8104 and a couple people have reported some problems: Clicky!. I dearly hope that there are no major problems with my Asus... little ones are okay but major ones...

The more I think about it, the more I feel that the Z71V is the better option of the two (other being 8104). I just wish it weren't so... ugly. Hopefully the pictures in your review will help settle things, I can't wait for you to get it.

That's my one and only point I'm hesitant about. I think it looks nice, but not great. Hopefully I will look better in real life

yeah, it isn't the prettiest laptop I think, but then I'm in the same boat of having almost pulled the trigger on the 8104 just to say, "hmm, what's this...well..maybe, huh" And of course the spiral continues. I was also dreaming of using a bluetooth mouse, and the 8104 has that included. My other seemingly hitch was dvi for my 20" lcd. But as someone mentioned and I later tried, with a newer video card the crt output really didn't seem that different than the dvi output. So I'm assuming/hoping that the newer laptop cards will perform similarily (hence closing the gap between the two). So I eagerly wait the hands on reviews of this guy and how well he preforms.

As long as another wicked deal doesn't coming along for the m70 I imagine it'll boil down to one of these. But then really who knows

The blutetooth was the other thing. I too had the same dreams of no wires at all.. but then I realized it would mean I would need to buy a new mouse... new printer... bluetooth equpped everything to make that dream come true. So that did'nt phase me that much.

Why don't you just print over a wireless network like everyone else?

My printer is attached directly to my laptop, so tha... wait a sec. That's kinda smart. Wait... how is that possible without bluetooth? How can my computer communicate with my printer (3 years old) without Bluetooth? Please inform me!

I keep seeing you guys order 1GB of ram in the 1x!1GB config...why not get 2x512 and take advantage of the fact that it is dual channel?

I can't speak for everyone else but I plan to use this laptop for a few years. This way I only need to drop in another GB of ram (if necessary by then) and the new Yonah processor coming out clocked at ~3GHz.

Dual Channel doesn't give THAT much of a performance boost... and plus, you could always just purchase another stick of 1GB RAM and then run dual channel at 2GB RAM
