Well its not exactly USER-upgradeable. When the upgrade is available the dell technician will come and upgrade it for you.
"Inside the machine, the Inspiron XPS Gen 2 contains the first 256-MB equipped mobile graphics card, the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra that uses a proprietary Dell version of the MXM removable graphics module, according to Dan Vivoli, senior vice president of marketing for Nvidia, in an interview. Users can purchase a graphics upgrade package that will dispatch a Dell technician to their site to upgrade the graphics when a future module comes available, but will be forced to replace the module with a Dell offering, not a generic model, Vivoli said."

I guess the only catch is that the upgrade option will probably be offered once per customer. That's what i heard was the case for the first xps. Also, its shady whether an ATI option will be possible, but if its using a custom MXM connector, that could just be another way of saying that its a hybrid. Especially since Dell has already supported the ATI modules in the XPS. On top of that this guy at beyond 3D noticed that the connector on the XPS Gen 2 looks like an AXIOM connector, further suggesting that the Gen 2 uses a hybrid design. Of courese his observation is to be taken with a grain of salt at this point.

Oh man, the Gen 2 seems like an excellent deal right now, but the only thing that's keepin me away is the damn processor. I just wish that was upgradeable too. Newayz, I hope this clears up confusion for some people who may have been holding themselves back from buyig the Gen 2 just because they thought it lacked an upgradeable GPU.
