7700 Dead Pixle Feelings

Guys I was wondering about how you felt about Alienwares dead pixil policy?
And what i mean by that is that would you be or are you afraid of recieving a dead pixel and being stuck with it?

the only reason that i am bring this up is becuase i talk to some of my friends and they kind of convinced that their dead pixil policy is crap.. so i was just wondering on how you guys felt?

thanks guys

I kinda agree with ya. I became aware, recently, that their dead pixel policy is different for the 7700. With the 7700, you can have up to 6, yes, SIX dead pixels, or SEVEN defective (light and dark) pixels and that would be considered "okay."

I'm one of those that cannot tolerate one, let alone seven.

JT

P.S. Anyone know if Alienware offers a "no-dead-pixel-guarantee" for additional money like other vendors?

six or seven is just plain stupid, one is wrong in my book, I have a cheap 699quid Acer Aspire 1355lc laptop with a Xga 15inch TFT LCD screen with a SINGLE dead pixel I spotted a few days back after having it for a few month, told the shop I got it from, and I am expecting a time/date to take it in for a new screen.

well, I got mine with 0 dead/lit pixels...if that helps...I don't think many people have had issues with dead pixels on the 7700

It does suck ever so slightly! My 7700 arrived with paint damage on the lid and a single dead pixel. anyone know if they'll be replacing my entire screen or just the casing when i send it back for the paint damage?

Sorry to disappoint you but I have no dead pixels....looking back in the forum, I have to say there are only a few posts about people who have them..there are many posts about the policy and even ways to correct a dead pixel and a post for a program to check for them...maybe I am just lucky then

I would assume just the casing but you never know...probably whatever is easiest...try calling and ask..plead your case for a new screen as this would be your best chance to do so...what have you got to loose

I asked that question when I bought mine and the answer was no, and no plans to do so in the future but things change and if enough people were to complain, who knows...AW seems to be very aware of its customers and I think they listen as repeat customers just make for good business

me too... I also have one bright red pixel on the left side (I'm afraid to find others)

I notice it more now because I know it's there plus it’s always lit up like a Christmas tree.
