my backpack evolution revolution

i've gone through the following three packs in the 4 months of owning my beloved 8887. the latter one was the property of a german soldier in WWII, complete with the soldier's name and complete address on the back up the back, encased in plastic. tried but failed to get a good picture of the handwriting. btw, i am not a nazi nor do i have nazi inclinations. it's just hands down the coolest and most unique laptop pack i have ever seen or used. here ya go:

my first was this $120 leather Gateway bag that my kid brother found for me at Goodwill($7). a great bag with not even .001nm to spare for the 8887. it was a perfect fit.

this is a targus bag that my bosslady bought for me as a bday gift. it's really superbly constructed and uber comfortable...but there's something about it that completely keeps me wary of being seen pimping it. i don't know; i'm weird i guess...

i discovered this beauty at a wrightsville beach,nc, army surplus store($25)...

Thats a sweet backpack! I just may start looking at local army surplus stores for one like that, not for my 8887 though...maybe for school...

Oh by the way not all german soldiers in WWII were nazis.. most of the regular Infantry were just fighting to defend thier homes... as for the SS and the gestpo... those a$$s were 100% nazi they would kiss hitlers butt if given an opportunity

How's that targus fit on an airplane? underneath the seat?

Edit Also how well is it padded?

Thanks

If your not using the Targus backpack you could probably sell it for around $60. There's a huge demand for it on the boards because its one of the few that fit an 8890.

How much padding do you have in that rucksack to be sure that the laptop doesn't get banged around?

you know those "mattress drapperies" that come with a complete bedset, that crap that drapes down betwixt the mattress and the boxspring? being a male, and a bachelor, i decided not to use the "window shading" that came with me egyptian cotton bedset...so i put one of those pieces to use at the bottom of that sack as padding. there are brutal metal reinforcements that would certainly not agree with me black beauty.

Damn that targus backpack is sweet looking, I wish I had ordered it with my laptop.
