Question on Itunes

Is it possible to create a folder or directory that I can drop playlists into? I have about 12 playlists (full albums) loaded so far and when I start adding the rest of my CD collection, it'll probably balloon up to 100 albums.

With the current setup, I feel that it might be cumbersome scrolling through 100+ albums to find the one I want.

TIA

nested playlists.. itunes can't do it that know of.. you may want to start using smart playlists, that may help you.

twopiece,

I don't see why you can't do this. I create new folders all the time in itunes and drag and drop whatever playlist I want to create at the time to them. The only thing is the obvious redundancey of songs as they will be listed in both the folders and under "library" for all music on your PC. The latest version of itunes (4.7) includes the option to search out the duplicates and eliminate them to streamline your collection..

I have that question too. Looked at Itunes last night and couldn't find the option to create a folder/directory.

you're kidding me, right? The first entry under "file" is 'New Playlist'. You can create a new playlist, name it whatever you want, then drag and drop any songs into it. Also listed there is the option to create 'Smart Playlists' if you prefer that option....

dude, you obviously aren't grasping hte nature of the question..

NESTED playlists.

tell me how to put one playlist inside another, or how to create a folder on the left pane that can hold playlists. You can't cuz there IS NO WAY.

D'OH!.....thanks Hooligan. Yes, apparently my brain was not functioning yesterday. I was confusing playlists with folders. It occured to me while driving to work this morning....

iPhoto 5 added nested albums, so I am hoping iTunes 5 will do the same.

And to the first poster, the iTunes search box in the upper right, or browse makes getting through large collections much easier.
