Who has had success with Dead Pixel exchanges?

I have to send my laptop back to get a fan issue fixed. Since it is within the first 30 days, and I have one dead pixel, I was thinking about just having Sager swap my components into a new system instead of fixing the fan, that way I may get a system with no dead pixels. But I wanted to know, when people send their systems back with dead pixels if more often then not they get another system with dead pixels or if they get a perfect system. Let me know your experiences.

My advice on this is to just get the fans fixed, as you never know how many dead pixels a new system could contain. It could very well be zero dead pixels, or you could trade in one with only one dead pixel for another one with two, or maybe one in the center of the screen where it would be more noticable. I wouldn't press my luck for that heh.

What was the problem with your fans if I may ask. Just want to know if I have the same issue .

I have the 4750 and the Video fan is making noises like maybe the bearings are loose or shot. It sounds almost as if there is something stuck in it (which there isn't), but the sound it makes is kind of like when a HD is loading data. You can't really hear it if the TV is on or something, but when it is silent it gets annoying.

With Hypersonic, I had to send in my laptop due to dead back light. The new screen has 1 lit red pixel. So I called them and they replaced my screen with perfect LCD. This is after 30 days, and the shipping back and to was 2nd day air (free). So far , I am very happy with them and my next laptop will definitely be from hypersonic. I like how I dont have to deal with Sager directly.

I orignially purchased a 4750 back in October last year. It came with a stuck blue pixel quite near center. I returned it and purchased another a month later and it came clean. So all in all I am happy I did so.

I was a bit dissapointed with sager originally(especially with their tech support - dont call them, email them), and I likely would of gone with another company. However, I was and am extremely happy with the guys at pctorque. Its basically because of them that I decided to stick it out and try again with sager.

good luck,
adair
