Intersting Things here:

Can choose No video card:

Video Card
-None
-64MB ATIs™ Mobility Radeon™ X300
-128MB ATIs™ Mobility Radeon™ X300 [add $49 or $2/month1]
-256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800 [add $199 or $6/month1]

Preliminary Ship Date 3/23/2005

Configued same as my XPS2.
i9300 = $3,381
XPS2 = $3,694
Difference = $313

XPS2 has $500 discount i9300 will get simmilar)

So for $313 you get the ULTRA and some LED lights.
Edit: Oh and a Gigibit network card.

It was a $300 difference for me in total price. $3295 vs 2972 I went with lowest memory possible on each and lowest hard drive as I'll upgrade those seperately.

So....Small Business now sells XPS2 and has a $700 off cupon.
Hrump.
Configued it the same and I would save about 170$ if ordered through small business. But I can only get 3 years service not 4.

....

OK either I am going insane or the site just changed in the time it took me to write this.
Now they offer 4 years through small buisiness.

Now price is closer.
Home XPS2 = $3698 - $500 = $3198
SmlBus XPS2 = $3863 - $700 = $3163

But Home has a $100 mail in rebate for four year service.

Man they are just messing with us. Ill stick with my current order for awhile longer.

hmm no sxga+ option, which is probably what i would be looking for.

But isn't XPS2 and 9300 pretty much the same system?!

Pretty much, but the I9300 can be configured with a slower GPU and CPU as well as minor details and the fancy lights on the xps gen 2.

I configured the 9300 to my XPS below and cam up with a $300 difference as well.

The only caveat is that the 9300 doesn't come with MCE 2005, at least on the S/B site. But it will be interesting to see the diso****s that will come up on Thurs.
post #13 of 72
SMB never offers MCE2005. But you guys are missing the most important difference between the 9300 and the XPS2: the customizable lid! (Which also isn't offered for the XPS2 on SMB.)
post #14 of 72
anybody know wat is the projected battery life of the 9300???

It's a clear plastic frame than snaps on the lid, so you can stick any picture you want in there. I'm going to put a big IBM logo on mine just to confuse people.
post #19 of 72
Put an apple logo, that would be a ton better.

$700 coupon doesnt seem to apply to the SB 9300 I configured
