Disabling the Page file in XP wont do much.
XP is pretty efficient with "paging out" only rarely used data blocks which means that you dont need to use it right now anyway. Also, even if you disable Page file completly, XP overrides you and uses a small one behind your back (how rude).
If you have more ram than you know what to do with the best use of it is to make a RAM drive. This is where you create a drive letter and allocate space in ram for this drive letter. Now the system thinks that its just like any other drive, yet its as fast as ram.
So you create the drive, then copy over the files you wish to access fast, then use them.

EDIT: ok that link is very old. Apparently there are some problems creating a Ram drive in XP but it can be done.
Edit2: Google for "ram disk" and you will have better luck.
