General Opinions on the zv5000z Series???

Hello everyone-

I just ordered a customized zv5000z series notebook, and was wondering if anyone else who owns one of these could provide some opinions on this laptop! I've heard mixed reviews, however more of them have been good than bad! It's still being built and I won't receive it for another week or so! Was this a good choice for a first laptop? Thanks for the feedback!

Good choice and specs on the laptop..I have the compaq version(R3000Z).

The screen is in my opinion the best among all the laptops I have used..It is great for viewing movies..especially widescreen movies otherwise(on normal movies) you get black bars on the sides but still picture quality is good..

Hope you enjoy using your laptop...

I had somebody from another forum tell me that I should have gone with the WSXGA screen (1680*1050) instead of the WXGA with Bright View. Bright View wasn't available with the highest resolution screen, so I ordered the (1280*800) with Bright View instead.....Was this a poor decision on my part? The guy from hp.shopping told me to go with the lower resolution because I wouldn't notice a difference....was this bad advice? Thanks for your help!

Its all personal preference..

The screen resolutions depends on what you use the pc for..The higher resolution screen offers more screen area than the WXGA Brightview...so you can see more but the drawback (if you consider it to be is that the size of the text becomes very small and hard to read)

The advantage of the Brightview widescreen is that fact the screen is brighter and colors are more vibrant with better viewing angles.

It really shouldnt matter for general everyday use unless you require the larger screen area.
