HDTV you send out your component adapter to - Page 2

Guys this not my first HDTV and certainly not the last, for I follow the IMF patterns set. The end of the W/S will be yet another wide screen beginning, to fulfill my every dream in my life in my apartment. Call me a cheapskate but I try to get my moneys worth out of a product I paid $3000 for only 4 years ago. I have laid down what the Image Science Foundation has put forth, I will not reject such true statements and will buy a new set without batting a eyelash.

This HDTV is a true 39 inch diaginol I will only be satisfied with at least a 50 inch or 11 inches wider than my present HDTV. I have the room I have already measured the space to the right, and a 50 inch diaginol will fit, money not a problem, the problem is my 87 year old mother not wanting me to buy another untill this one is shot. No I am not a mamas boy, but I don't want to upset her either; like I did buying a new Subaru Legacy for $27,000.

The older folks think of what the money could by them in their time, my mothers house cost them $5,600 in 1956, they can't see the cost of living going up to the point of hysterical blindness not of a crime, but a sum of money on a TV set or a new car. She will eventually die, then with what the IMF is saying I will purchase that 50 inch diaginol, I just hope it doesn't go out as fast as this RCA model did with it's 3 running 24 hours a day fans; in the back of this monster size and weight. It has to be as clear for my laptop computer or no sale!

Um.. Okay..

To answer the 1080i question, once you plug in the TV to the DVI under Display Settings>Advanced>Displays> click on the TV, then it will let you choose to output 1080i or 720p..

Eric I don't have cable or Satellite TV by choice, I did have it in 2001, I had digital choice from www.sectv.com. When 60 minutes became 40 minutes I had the cableTV stopped.

Eric this was the first cable company in america having started in 1948, I simply got tired of 5 minutes of programing and 5 minutes of commercials. Right after the twin towers collapse after being hit by hijacked Jets, I decided I had enough. The HDTV is used with key digital component adapter to view my laptops pic on the 19.5 inches high and 34.255 inches wide 'in' screen view. I also watch a lot of commercial free DVD, If I need news I turn google.com for it otherwise Digital 1080i never enters the picture.

solid state electronics aren't like they were 50 years ago. don't know why you shut power completely from the tv...unless you are worried about brown outs or power surges, there is absolutely no reason to have the thing cut off...unless of course you are trying to minimize electricity consumption since tv's at idle draw lots of it

there is absolutely no benefit of watching dvd and vhs on a HDTV enabled television, as the resolution of both formats are far below HDTV native resolution; moreover, unless your television has built in processor, which yours doesn't, dvd and vhs playback will look worse on your system than on a regular tv or EDTV. since the only HDTV signals are via satellite or cable, it makes absolutely no sense to have a HDTV system unless you are going to watch them in HDTV.

all in one systems are convenient, but you suffer from one thing being asked to do too many things. when one fails, it could wipe out your whole system
Billy can you say anything 'nice' about my threads, maybe you didn't read it but the things 3 fans that if plugged in current withone will run 24 hours a day. GD fans are at the back of the heavy as hell HDTV and Locking stand. The only way I can move it is using my electric scooter to push it out from the back, then when I am done I turn my scooter around and push it back into place. That is a disabled mans 'workaround', I have been able to do thanks to the Electric Mobility Model #305 4 wheel scooter, which is like the color of my avatar.

dude, get a new tv then...i thin you purposely buy crap so you can complain about them...bohoo, once again more disabled b.s., we're feeling sorry for your miserable life...at least you got a dell...maybe in your infinite brilliance and disabled status, you can write a program for your dell to shut off the fans, or better yet, just get a "clap on, clap off" for the fans

having an hdtv system and not using it for anything hd is like buying a xps2 just for word processing...or buying 2GB ram for i700m

I started this thread to see if anyone else was using a VGA to component adapter on any HDTV.
