WOW......5660 Cooling Fan Speed Up?

I saw a post somewhere a while ago, stating that over-volting the cooling fans in his 5660 made his notebook run much cooler.

The person noted that it draws more battery power, but he didn't care due to being plugged in all the time.

But he didn't mention how to increase the fan voltage, how can this be done, bios perhaps?

I keep mine plugged in all the time........and would like to know how to do this.

Since Its plugged in I'll venture that its not on your lap...so who cares?

You could mess around with a multimeter, find what they run on now and then something higher..like 5-->12. That would work for sure but I certainly wouldn't do it with mine.

I was thinking along the lines of simply bumping up a registry value, I believe this is how the person did it.....The registry does mention the fan in a few places, but I don't have enough knowledge about the name/values to try it......Perhaps someone that knows more info on sager registry names/values can take a look?

I don't know the specific values to change to cause it... but I wouldn't recommend it personally. The computer is 100% stable at its default settings and there are no heat problems... Do you have heat problems or something?

Heat problem, NO and YES.

As normal, everything runs fine....

As soon as I overclock the Video Card up a little, 10-15mhz, artifacting occurs in about 15-20 minutes..due to heat....once the clock speed is returned back to normal, all is fine. The extra fan speed would benifit me greatly, as is does for those who know how do it....I thought someone here would know for sure?
