Where is Snorre??, he seems to have dissappeared off the face of the earth.

Did the Intel mob squad get him.
Or is it Alien abduction.

Snorre is being held captive by the Intel Blue men!!! We need to form a rescue party immediately to rescue him! Who's with me? La Resistance meeting in my basement tonight! Free Punch and Pie!!!

...video of the skywriting mentioned earlier..this actually annoys me, because instead of promoting the project in a business like manner, AMD has always tried to be what appears to me as an attempt at funny or unconventional...it just doesn't work anymore...either step up and become a viable competitor or stay as a niche market company and live with your self-made underdog punk status...

/rant

sorry...

Hmmm, I think we should send out a crew to find Snorre. If we wait too long, Intel might pick his brain and AMD will be SH*T out of luck on their next release

Hehe, I'm right here guys. Actually I was on a business (conference) trip/vacation (visiting friends) to California for two weeks

I also visited Silicon Valley; San Jose, Santa Clara (Intel land), Sunnyvale (AMD land), etc. Not much to see there though, visited NVIDIA, SUN, the Tech Museum and the Intel Museum (boring!). Luckily, no aliens or Intel blue men tried to capture me

Conference?! Hmm wasn't there an Intel Conference within the past two weeks?!

Snorre has become an Intel SPY! EEeeeekk!

Man, you visit silicon valley and you did not visit the best place there. Winchester Mystery Mansion!!!!

Nah, Snorre *was* at the Intel conference, but he was there as AMD's skywriter. Then, using his ninja skills, he jumped out of the plane and snuck into the conference room, only leaving once he had swapped out all the attendents' notebooks with AMD platforms. You should've been there...it was awesome...

Anyone have any guesses on which will be the first purchasable turion platform in the US? And when it might be available for purchase: april, may, june?

Based on what happened with the Sonoma launch I would guess that Acer will have the first model to hit the shelves in the U.S. with the Aspire 5000 and 5020...Asus might soon follow with the A6000 series...the launch is in April, and the processors are being sold in bulk now, so they should be available from the original date of April 18, or within the first two weeks (hopefully anyway )

More on the Fujitsu AMILO A7645...it's not on Fujitsu's website at the moment, but this and the Acer 5020 seem to me to be the most promising Turion notebooks that we know about so far...hopefully we'll hear from Asus soon...

It seems like is an Uniwill, look at the break on the Optical drive plus look at the 3 jacks in the middle, just like the old AMD Uniwill

Not much innovation there. Just modified the sase to fid a new moboard. Ugh... The old case had heat issues too, mostly caused by the hard drive placement under the left palm rest. Doubeful it's been changed.

That pic is of the old Uniwill 258KA0 I think, but T-Online got a completely different pic of the new Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A7645 notebook here:

And here's another pic of it by X-bit labs from CeBIT:

It's neither a MSI or a Arima design, so I guess it must be a brand new Uniwill design (?).

Hi Snorre! Welcome back! We haven't see you in a while. Glad to see you excaped your Intel captures. We were about to launch a rescue party for you.

One of key players in notebook industry, Asustek introduced its future implementation of the AMD Turion 64 platform at CeBIT. The product, initially called A6000K, will come out with 15- or 15.4-inch TFT LCD display, Nvidia GeForce Go 6200 mobile graphics processor, DDR333 memory (upto 2GB), wireless LAN module supporting two (b and g) or three (a, b and g) versions of IEEE 802.11 standard, the company said.

Asustek’s A6000K will measure 35.4x28.4x3.5cm and will weight less than 3kg, according to the company. There is currently no information on pricing or when mass production will begin.

I think thats no brand new design from Uniwill.
In my opinion it is the AMD version of the Uniwill 259II0.
