I ordered some of this and installed it in my Aurora 7500 SLI.
It worked great and makes a difference.
A couple of suggestions:
1) Purchase 2 Kits so you have enough material
2) If you install it (like I did) without taking everything apart, cut the foam into smaller sections when you install it on the inside of the case. This makes it much easier to install around the components etc.....
I covered the entire removable side door with the "Egg Carton" Type foam. The bottom of the case, the top of the case, and any other bare areas with the thinner foam.
I played games for about 3 hours last night with the foam installed and did not get any heat related issues, so i think the foam should not raise the temp in the case enough to cause problems.
Cost of the foam was around $20.00 but well worth it.
I decided againt changing the fans to a silent version because I received the following specs regarding the airflow rating of the AW fans. These specs came directly from AW.
Case Fan: 120mm
Air vlolume: M3 / Min (CFM: Max) 2.81(99.19)
- Rated speed 2000+- 10%
- Noise db 38 (whoa!!!)
AlienIce Fan: 80mm
- Speed 2600rpm
- Airflow 32CFM – Max 33.2CFM
Since these fans have such great airflow, I dont think I can get the same airflow with silent fans. I checked out panaflo, silenx, and many others.
I will take the loud fans since the comp runs perfectly.
