Got my 8600

A few weeks back I posted a question wondering if I should get the i6000 instead of the i8600 I had just ordered (the i6000 was introduced a day after I placed my order). Most of the replies I got basically said that the 8600 was outdated, and I should go with newer technology, not too mention all the people who don't like the blue trim on the 8600. I decided against this advice because I was kind of in a hurry to get this, and because from everything I read the ATI 9600 graphics card in the 8600 was better than the x300 in the 6000.

First impression from a someone who is not really all that PC savvy is that this is a great machine for the money. Great looking display, no dead pixels, start up is pretty fast, love the wireless...alot of people mentioned a problem with flex on the keyboard...I did not notice this, I am a fairly light typer, and th jeys do not flex. In order to get some flex I need to push down with a fair degree of pressure...

Didn't play any games yet, but I did do some photoediting with JASC paintshop pro 8...great results, very fast proccessing times...

My only gripe is that there seems to be too many extras on it in terms of software...there appear to be around 50 processes running...can I jsut reformat the drive and relaod windows XP solo? Will I run into any problems with the drivers?

The link for your drivers.

You need to download the drivers, and burn them onto a cd.

After reinstall, just use the drivers on the cd.

What all drivers do you need?

Obviously the 9600 pro drivers, and display drivers. what else?

I may just got with Omega drivers.

I really planned to just remove all programs i didnt want, but there seems to be so much shit on here.

Will the XP cd that i got with my laptop even have a clean copy of XP? or will it automatically load all that crapware?

jon!
