Acer Ferrari slight sound prob. help.

Thread Starter
Ok there is two small problem's im experiencing wth my Acer Ferrari 3400.. (bought new 1 week before xmas)
1.
When I use the Fn key and adjust brightness/volume etc the little green display doesnt show up anymore..Could this be because I changed the wallpaper? I also moved all items from my desktop and put them on a toolbar at the top of my screen..maybe this was it? Maybe it was because I installed the Omega drivers?

2. Sometimes I hear a "crackling" sound through my speakers.. It happens when I have the laptop speakers on or earphones. It only goes away when I play some audio but comes back after the audio has finished. It is also more severe when I type or rest my hand on the palmrest/keyboard area.
Edit: ok i just checked and i think it only happens when i have the power supply plugged in.. running on battery there is no probs.

Anyone else experiencing these problems?

Any help/suggestion appreciated.
Thanks,
BlackFrancis.

edit: actually another minor problem.. the acer ferrari mouse moves accross the screen a lot. Is there any way to fix this?

Also, I've been looking through the Acer Ferrari 3400/3200 threads and have seen snorre gives good advice.. Is there any sites/tutorials/topics which will give me links/advice to what updates are needed etc?

aside from the above slightly annoying problems the laptop is perfect, does everything I want.

yea.. i had some sort of crackling noise couple months ago... i found that the crackling starts when i visit an internet page with sound... and it sometimes starts goin grrrssssshhhh eeeeee crrrrrr.. making me have to restart which resolved the problem but it kept occurring but only till now you mentioned it... ive realised i aint had that happen in some time now... so i dont know what was up....

and the reason why you cant see the volume adjusting on screen is probably because you haven't got the acer launch manager up and running...

Re: the acer ferrari mouse moves accross the scree

If you have installed the touchpad driver from the Acer website, consider uninstalling it. I had a similar problem that started when I installed that driver.
It magically disappeared when I uninstalled it.
Just my experience....

I had the same issue with the volume indicator not becoming visible when turning up and down volume. Putting the Acer Launch Manager into the start up, and clicking "Ok" on each start-up resolves this difficulty; though it is annoyance to be met with that pop-up on each reboot. Anyway around me having to do it this way?

I haven't seen the green volume bars since the day I clean formatted my Ferari (same day I got it), but then again I don't have Launch Manager installed or mouse drivers from Acer.

I haven't had any sound problems though.
