Is it worth upgrading an A21m to XP from 98SE?

It'll cost me about $300. to do the upgrade, obviously more to buy a new laptop. What do you think? I am pretty happy with it otherwise. IBM replaced a bad HD about a year and a half ago for free.

Hdd and processor isn't a problem..

wats the max ram u can upgrade to??

cos if i din remember wrongly, it's better to have at least 256mb of rams... optimum is 512mb of rams for WinXP. 192mb should suffice..

the A21m can accept a maximum of if im not mistaken 512mb of PC100 ram, just be sure to use double sided high density modules to utilize the full capacity of the modules.

I use a XP pro on an IBM T22 900Mhz, 384 Mb, 20 GB machine and it works fine.
I also upgrade my Dad's T20, 600Mhz machine to XP Pro from 98 SE and it was a distinct improvement. I will say that the more RAM you give it, the happier it will be. 512 would probably be ideal.
