DDR / DDR2 question

Hi All

I have a i9100 with 512MB ( 2 sticks of pc3200 ). I noticed that there is DDR2 on the market now. My question is therefore if this type of memory will work in the i9100. I'm not worried about performance ... just compatibility. I mean who nows when DDR might be phased out? So I just wanted to know if I could put these sticks into my machine in the future.

DDR2 wont work on our machines. requires a different chipset i believe.

yes, suryad is correct it requires a different chipset that supports it.
