Changes you would like Dell to put on the 700m

Here are a list of some changes I would like dell to make on the 700m. Some easier than others.

1. Offer the X300
2. Internal Bluetooth
3. Increase FSB to 533MHz
4. Increase screen size to Wide Aspect 13"

I would love 1-3, I know 4 isn't really do-able right now, but 1-3 seems easy enuff.

What about you guys?

id like a full size keyboard or the same size as my i8500(my fat fingers are hitting each other). i just got it today and doing a clean install on it right now.
the battery design can change too. i got the 8 cell and it doesnt look attractive when the lid is closed.

I might've gotten it instead of the 9200 if the graphics card was better.

Fix the stupid track pad coasting, add an eraser head, and let me watch DVDs without booting up Winblows.

Adding BlueTooth would cut into the battery. I have an i8500, and internal BlueTooth - which I rarely, if ever, use. Problem is, I can't turn it off without turning off the WLAN too.

Increasing the FSB to 533mhz seems logical though.

leave the screen size and keyboard alone, remember that this is an ultraportable laptop. here are the changes i'd like.

1. place the USB,VGA, and AC connector on the back and integrate a different type of battery mechanics so that it won't have to go in the back.

2. Volume Control and DVD/CD playback buttons above the keyboard.

3. and most importantly, place the headphone jack either on the back or the side. I use my desktop speakers and I hate how the speaker wires has to wrap around the whole laptop.

4. built in Geforce GO Ultra upgradeable PCI-express, Watercooled latest 533mhz Centrino, A TV tuner that supports HDTV signal, A mini hamster cage for my little pet labrat, and an award sticker specially made for me that says "the most retarded poster on www.notebookforums.com"

here are my additions:

1.combo bluetooth wireless N
2. magnesium alloy or titanium shell
3. keep the ac on the side, b/c i hate that thing sticking out the back when i'm using it on my lap
4. supermodel certificates
5. stinky french cheese
6. swappable battery in media bay
7. slot loading cd/dvd loading (just can't beat apple in this department) would reduce vibration etc associated with these flimpsy tray loaders

It's the only thing that annoys me about the 700m. If you enable the scroll region on the track pad, you can vertically scroll just by moving your finger along the side. If coasting is enabled, it speeds up scrolling through large documents by continuing to scroll even after you stop moving your finger.

I disabled coasting, but it still keeps scrolling after I stop moving my finger, so I end up chasing the scroll bar around in order to get the stupid thing to land where I want it to.

Cool! Thanks! I didn't even know IE had a smooth scrolling option, but it's off now and that seems to fix the problem. Now if you can just tell me where the eraser head is and how to play DVDs without booting Windows, I'll be in heaven

Ya give it the X300 or something similar, I'm sure a case that size can easily be designed to handle it.. I'd be suprised if it couldn't all ready.

Clearly, also at the very least add a Sonoma option and the 533 DDR2 RAM, that way the X300 will fit . Also a 64 bit CPU can't come soon enough.. I know Dell won't be offering Turion so I hope Intel gets their version out soon, I mean win64 is out in April.. it's time.

Give it a DVI port, (VGA was pointles two years ago!).

This would require a whole new laptop, but a 13.3 wide screen would be ideal since this is about the smallest size screen that would work for a virtually full size keyboard.. which is what is so nice about the Sony S series.

Just give me a 533 MHz FSB and ANY graphic card that isn't integrated. I can't even run some screensavers, but I can play Call of Duty!?!?
