i've just ordered my xps2 about 2-3 days ago and am waiting impatiently for its arrival. i even just bought 2 games from amazon to prepare its arrival, lol. anyways, was just looking at the dell forum here and i realized there's not enough threads talking about the ixps2, so i just thought of starting one, hopefully many issues with the ixps2 can be raised here. well, i just went to dell's website to see if anything's new with the xps2 and they've deleted the 500 discount and free shipping, wonder how'd that affect sales?

Now that there's no more $500 off... will they have coupons for the xps? A lot of the coupons that are out say they can't be used with xps.

I just checked the Dell website, and it seems they are still giving $500 off to new XPS buyers. I thought they were ending that Wednesday, but they may not have updated there website yet.

now it's no longer $500 off, instead it's 10% off. and i just saw in pcmag that the xps2 actually offers the elusive 100gb 7200rpm drive, except i haven't been able to confirm if it's seagate or hitachi. the hitachi site seems down for some apparent reason while the seagate site seems too confusing to find out which is their mobile drives and which is their desktop counterparts...

according to dell's site, all hds are 4200 rpm except the 7200 60 gb one.

No 40GB/60GB comes with 5400 RMP

dell offered the 100gb 7200rpm drives but i don't know if it really exists or if it's just their marketing strategy. maybe those who ordered immediately when it just made its debut got it?

go to www.dell.com/pcm and enter 02861-D80329M as the E-value code. scroll down to the hard disk section and you'll see for yourself.

Can anyone tell me about the cover that holds the picture on the XPS. Is it included, or is it an add on? I can not see this info o the site, and I have looked.
