NetMD MiniDisk at first sound great for me, 5 hrs of music....but when i saw specs, I could see it do not store data like a HD, and when you use this "5 hrs" you have to transfer it on LP4 (or somthing like this) and you can NOT transfer back to any comuter than yours (like this **** of WMA with digital firm).
Ur right...but don't compare MD to hard drive-based MP3 players spec for spec tho. Big deal if you can't transfer music from the disc back to ur computer...most NORMAL people don't have their music scattered across multiple computers.

...and what's wrong with LP4 mode? Before my pre-NetMD Minidisc player/recorder (it still allowed for 5 hours of music) was damaged in a car accident, I never really found a problem with the audio.

Loki047: MD players can be hooked up to ur auxilary connection as well...u just need a plug that goes from the audio output to stereo connection cable.

How about a Nomad Jukebox ZEN ??
I have a 20 GB drive in it and will be putting a 60 GB drive in soon.
Plus, it's built like a tank.

Which version ??
There is a ZEN MX model and it's GARBAGE !!!!
Some ZENS had issues, so did some IPODS.
I jog with my ZEN, dropped it, and especially like the remote.
I can glance at the remote and see what track is playing.
plus, with some of IPODs sound issues, I can't see spending another $200+ for it, yet.
Maybe with the 4th generation IPODS, just not yet.
BTW: Rio has a new player coming out smaller than the IPOD, more storage space and has a nice big screen and a Network jack on it.
What would be the point of the network jack?
What I gathered was it gives itself an I.P. on your network, and you can use it to dump/retrieve files across your LAN or use it as a LAN based Jukebox.
Sounds pretty cool if the sound quality will be good.
Rio Karma is the name of it.

Maybe a link or so?

And i am willing to pay the extra 200 dollars for the smaller player and the convience, the software that comes with nomads is pure garbage.

Awwww...that's a pretty spiffy idea. Surprised no one has thought of that.

Well according to IGN Gear, Notmad is a great alternative to the Nomad software. Here's a link to IGN's quick run down and a link to the software website:

Wow...that sucker is pretty damn small (kinda thick tho @ almost an inch), but I can't get over the $400 price tag tho. I hope when it comes out, it is alot cheaper. When is it supposed to come out?

I think you guys could be very well intersted in a very expensive 40gig Archos AV340. It's really expensive, but heard that it's worth every penny.
What's "Very expensive"? Just b/c something is worth every penny doesn't everyone has the money to blow on something like that.
