A few XPS 2 Spec Questions......

Im just wondering what people on here think about the PM 2.0 GHZ Compared to lets say a P4 Desktop chip around 3.4-3.6 GHZ. I have always been a desktop chip kinda guy, but im sorta leaning towards mobile. Also, how does the PM compare to lets say an athlon 64? Will the PM mobile ever offer 64 bit? Has anyone read or seen anything about intel mobile 64 bit.

Thanks

All I care about is the benchmarks. The benchmarks say this configuration is kickass for a laptop, so I'm getting this one.

Depends what kind of P4 desktop chip you're referring to. If it's a northwood 3.4-3.6 GHz chip then yes the P-M soundly beats it. If it's a P4 EE chip at those speeds then they are a lot closer in speed (almost neck to neck). The differenceis then in thermal properties where the P-M easily wins out. However, a P4 chip will give better FP performance so that may be important to you if you do non-gaming stuff like 3D Modeling and encoding. For a laptop, my personal preference is the P-M by far since it delivers on performance, has low heat production and lasts much longer on battery.
