What resolution do you run Counterstrike: Source?

I got my 8600 and im struggling with the performance. I keep getting about 35fps +- 10 fps(my desktop usually gets 50+- 15)

I have the pent M 1.8ghz, 512 mb ram(1dim), 60gb hd(not the 7200 version)

Also the resolution at 1024 x 768 looks good, but its all stretched since its meant for 4:3 screen.

the 16:9 option is only 868x whatever

and the 16:10 is like 1250 x something, and thats to much for the machine.

What do you guys use? Am i missing something?

Yes, you have to go to the drivers properties page (right click on desktop, settings etc.) and somewhere select the "mantain aspect ratio". In this way you'll play at 1024x768 with 2 black stripes on left and right of the screen, but the image will not be stretched.

The game should give you the option for 1280x768 too, HL2 ran fine with that, can't you find it?
