Same ram.
Same Hard Drive capacity.
Comparable screens WXGA +, WXGA.
Both Sonoma with Alviso. Pentium M 1.6 GHz 533MHz
Comparable ac97 sound.
Comparable nic's.
Both look nice.
Both Play DVD's very well.
Both screens are bright when plugged in, but the I6000 has bigger graphics.

Different video graphics. The I9300 uses pci express. The I6000 with integrated graphics uses pci graphics.

Winner is I6000. Cheaper, and works for everybody who doesn't play video games. The price difference for better graphics, but everything else the same ? 1000.00 ~ Canadian.

It basically came down to a size difference for me.

The big differences other than size are material of bottom plate and number of fans.
I6000 is made of plastic with single fan, thus it gets warmer quickly and stays warm, especially right bottom where GPU sits.

On the other hand, I9200/9300 is made of metallic bottom plate and two fans cool both CPU and GPU separately thus no heat can be felt.

Other nice things about the 9300: subwoofer, DVI-out, 6 USB ports. But it should really come down to whether or not you want a 17-inch display.

The WXGA+ doesn't have Truelife. On the I9300.
And it's just 1.6" bigger than the I6000.

The I6000 won't get hot with integrated graphics. With the X300 it probably will.

I wish it had WXGA with Truelife.

The one thing I like about the I9300 is the sub woofer.

The I6000 I returned with integrated graphics got quite hot, actually!

umm..why did you return your i6000 ?
I say, wait for the 8600 replacement, it will have the i6000 size (maybe it will be the i6000 itself), a "good" graphic card (x600 o x700), and the price will be lower than the 9300. You can have the *wonderful* wsxga+ screen too. Just let's hope that Dell will launch it fast, the market suffers without the 8600 or its replacement, I think Dell is losing thousand of $ every day..

No brainer. Go with the I6000.

Because I changed my order to the 6000D, but they still shipped the 6000. Morons.

I'm thinking of changing my 6000D order to a 9300.

the only reason i would change to a 9300 is if i wanted a bigger screen and i wanted a WSXGA+ resolution.
For now i'm sticking with my 6000D at WXGA resolution,

the 9300 is just too big for me to carry around from time to time, the 6000D for me is the best choice for my purpose.
