Thread Starter
For the Aspire Notebooks, two new Thin & Light Mobile AMD Sempron series are being presented, namely the Aspire 3000 as a start-up series, and the Aspire 3020 with ATI Mobility Radeon X600 PCI Express Graphics featuring up to 128 MB video memory. In addition, Acer will announce two series in the Thin & Light form factor, which are based on AMD Turion processors: the Aspire 5000 Series for beginners, and the Aspire 5020 Series for more advanced users. The latter unit features an Acer CrystalBrite WXGA display, ATI Mobility Radeon X700 PCI Express graphics, DVD dual double layer disk drive and 6-in-1 card reader.

I think it's a matter of personal choice I still would choose XGA/WXGA over SXGA/WSXGA

So this makes Acer one of the first with Sonoma and one of the first with Turion. Their designers and manufacturers must be working a lot of overtime!

dang, no wsxga, ugh! I feel for everyone that wants a bit more room as I need at least wsxga being a digital artist. So sad, as they were soo...soooooo close.

In addition to all these new models there will ofcourse also be a new Acer Ferrari model.

One more question...are you sure?? Cuz I don't know if I can wait any longer!
My Daddy's credit card is lookin me straight in the eye! LOL (It says order the Acer TM 8100 now!) But I'd rather have the new Ferrari cuz the AMD64 is more upgradable in the future...

Looking at the design I have a feeling that the 5600 is actualy going to undercut the 8100 series in price by a few hundred dollars, notice the non curved keyboard? That is usualy a dead give away that your looking at in this case a mid range laptop Im beting $1400~$1650 for the price, I think I might just wait a bit, though the 8103 looks mighty tempting at the moment, the big thing is going to be the HD/DVD burner that they stuff into the 5600 cause I like the idea of a cheaper laptop lots, and I like the idea of 64 bit a lot as well.
