The lcd (15.0" SXGA) on my dell 7500 just recently stopped working. When it boots up, the blank screen turns a dull white. That's about it. However, attaching an external monitor to the laptop works fine. I'm assuming this means that my video card is fine and it has to be a problem with either the LCD itself, the inverter, flex cable, etc.. I tried reseeding all the cables etc.. but still having the problem.
I was thinking about finding a used LCD flex cable on ebay and seeing if replacing that fixed it, however I'm realizing that I can't be sure that's the issue. I'd rather not keep shelling out $20 here and $30 there hoping that I pick the right part to replace.
Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I've considered bringing it in somewhere to get it diagnosed, however I'm not sure the cost is worth it (the laptop is prob. only worth $150 or so)
Thanks,
