loud dvd/cdrw drive?

Hey, I just got my refurbished Inspiron 8600 from dell and the cd dvd-rom drive seems a pretty loud, I can also feel the whole notebook vibrating when the drive is spinning. Is this a defect?

You're bumping alot!

When my drive is spinning, the notebook vibrates also. Seen it on a lot of notebooks, not just Dell's.
Maybe you can use a tool to decrease the spinningspeed. E.G. Nero Drivespeed.
