Thot delivery of the XPS2 wasn't s'sposed to be until April anyway??
Yeah basically all of us pre-ordered the XPS 2. Actual shipping won't be until April for any of us I guess.

Mine says production and a rep told me it was in production, but it's greyed out.

Bear in mind that "kitting" is part of the production stage. "Kitting" is when they collect all the parts required for the system.

Would you freaks quit checking your order status every 10 seconds you're creating too much traffic on the order status page:

LOL
I think that the XPS 2 may ship slightly earlier. Dell always does things at least with shipable systems, by saying it will ship on 3/14 and it actually ships on 3/8 somthing like this..... Maybe they will leave everyone in suspence then ship it a few days early to make you happy...... I guess we will have to wait and see!

at least another 4 weeks before it ships... no doubt it gives all the techs a chance to take your new XPS2 home and play a few games.

No production for me. I notice that now the shipping estimate is 25 days, so that's a good sign that they have a firm date on whatever parts are missing, which is what I assume is the hold up.

Interesting to note that my 9300 order placed on the 3rd is and was scheduled to ship on the 24th, but the new order I placed to take advantage of the 35% off coupon today, the 5th, is scheduled to ship on the 18th.

I bet the hold up is the 6800 go ultra. TSMC must be having a hard time producing them in mass quantity - its no surprise really since desktop 6800 U's were in short supply as well and if the rumors of the 6800 go ultra being built on a new .11u process is true, then that could be another reason for why its taking so long.

Someone posted in another XPS 2 topic that the delays were caused by the 6800 Go ultra's and LCD screens.
It can't be the LCD screens, because the same wait does not occur with the 9300. The 9300's are now estimating shipping in the normal 2 weeks time.

So that would tell you that the XPS 2 is delayed because of the NVidia graphics cards. If those cards do come in sooner, then it's the same as the i9300's ship date.
