hey, sorry if this is a stupid question, but what exactly is the difference between the i6000 and the i6000d? which is the one to go for? thanks.

pretty sure the "d" stands for dedicated graphics.

x300 video card instead of integreted graphics.

i6000 has integrated Intel graphics, the i6000d has dedicated ATI graphics.

The i6000d will be a little better for you if you need better 3d performance. It may also be upgradeable (in terms of graphic card) in the future, the i6000 is not.

The previous poster is correct. D = dedicated graphics. Which one do you go for? Personally, I went with the "d" because I plan on running the occaisional game. If you will use the machine for office tasks and surfing the web only, you might as well save some money and get the intergrated graphics.

BTW, I went for the i6000d w/ ATI X300 128MB

thanks for the replies. thats odd, i ordered the i6000 with the ati radeon x300 (that component is listed on my order form), but at the top of the order form it only says "dell inspiron(tm) 6000 intel(r) pentium(r)M 730/740/750/760". it doesnt say "6000d". is that something i should be worried about? thanks.

As long as you have the X300 it is the "d" 6000.

cheers guys. i heard some stories about people getting the i6000 delivered even though they ordered the i6000d. thatd suck.

After so long, still nobody benchmark X300 in I6000D.

I am still very confident that 9600 pro turbo in I8600 will trash x300 in I6000D
