Video Problems 4750-V

Thread Starter
Hi,

I recntly bought this notebook, it worked fine at the begining but then when playing games WoW for example the polygons will get all messed up, if then I quited to desktop the desktop will have lines, if I restarted the notebook it would be good again. Unfortunately it started happening all the time and now it is even worse my display is 8 bpp, even though it is set to 32 (and 16 doesn't make any differenece) and is all 'snowy', I have tried every trick I know but to no avail, even when is booting the letters for the ram, bios settings etc look fuzzy. It was intermittent for awhile but now it seems permanen.

I don't know if anyone has had this problem or similar, but it seems to me that the video card might be flaky. I guess as soon as I can get a hold of the people I should send it for repair.

sounds like an overheating video chip. Firmware 1.04 is known to fix some of these problems, though it sounds like yours is beyond that.

RMA time

That happened to me too, I hear it's not a rare issue with the 4750. I sent mine back to be serviced, and it will arrive back to me tomorrow. I'll let you know how things go

same with mine. Mine was a bad motherboard causing the problem. My laptop was getting extremely hot for no reason. I think it must've been a batch of bad motherboards being used for some reason. I'd play warcraft 3 frozen throne for approx. 30 minutes to 2 hours and it would do that.

One of my friends is having the same problem with his 4750. He's got a thread about it here, too.

That look familiar? That's the type of graphical problem he's having, except it's gone to a much worse degree now.

UPDATE: Got my lappy back, and it was the mother board. They replaced it and everything works fine now, no video glitching at all. So, you'll probably have to rma your lappy.

Same.

I think there were a batch of bad motherboards going out.
