Im not real sure on this new gaphics option that has been announced I was wondering if someone would be willing to give me some insight as to what the advantages or disadvantages of going with the FX might be. I currently use an X850 in my desktop and I love it. I reviewed the specs you guys put up on 6800go vs X800 and X800 blew it away, but this new 1400 can we expect the same benchmark tests from you guys soon or can someone just throw me a, well its a heck of a lot better since I know very little about the Quadro.

actually the go6800 with the DDR3 is doing better then the x800 in benchmarks now the ones they tested it againest were the DDR2 memory

The qaudro is more specific to OGL 3d apps like CAD and 3d modeling progs. It has special workstation card drivers and is certified to function correctly with these apps. If 3d isn't your line of work the Quadro FX isn't for you.

Ignorance

Just goes to show my ignorance, so for games such as HL2, Doom 3, Everquest, and ect games that can be very graphically demanding, would you guys recomend the 6800, X800, or the Quadro?

Either 6800 or X800. I personally believe that either of these cards will run these apps to your satisfaction (unless you are a seriously hard-core gamer). The general rule of thumb is: X800 for Windows, 6800 for Linux. Avoid the Quadro unless you just can't get anything else.

...Unless you need a really good 3d app card. The quadro isn't a gaming card but I don't game, I do 3d modeling so I'm getting the Quadro card. OpenGL is where the 3d graphics world lives
