XPS2&9300 - Weight and LED?

Thread Starter
I am trying to decide between XPS2 and 9300. Maybe you can help.

1. Is weight is significantly different between XPS2 and 9300? As far as I see, difference is less than pound. Am I right?
2. What is this LED everybody talking about and where is on XPS2?

Thank you.

2. the led's are located on the cover, the "XPS" is lit up, the inside of the laptop is also lit, the thing i like the most about it is that you get to play around with the color of the led's

IMO I dont want to pay $500 extra for flashy LED's Screaming "Look! I Bought a DELL! Im trying to be a wannabe case modder!"

+ With the look of the XPS2 it has a higher chance of getting jacked almost anywhere you go. Lan or airport

For $500 more, you're getting MORE than flashy LED's. Higher default CPU, ULTRA versino of the GPU, XPS backpack, gigabyte network, and a cover that's changeable.

I believe it costs $500 more for the same GPU (Pentium M) without the backpack (costs extra), and the cover (also costs extra). So it's $500 for Ultra instead of regular, $.05 LED's, black instead of white borders, and gigaBIT network which is only usefull if you've got all gigabit network hardwared to connect to. It really comes down to looks + the GPU, but it also comes down to the fact that right now, the 9300 can be used with the 35% off coupon, and the XPS2 cannot, so now it's nearly $1000 difference.

Yeah right now with the 35% off coupon for the i9300, its a killer deal.

I could care less about flashy LED lights or a pound more of weight due to a larger battery...I want desktop 6800 GT performance or better in a laptop. The 6800 Ultra Go in the XPS 2 delivers that. The 6800 in the i9300 and sager 9860 is just a little faster than the 6800 non-ultra 128mb in this desktop I'm using (which has an Athlon XP 2800+ 333fsb compared to the behemoth pentium 4 3.6ghz in the 9860). I like the idea of stepping UP in performance to my laptop (which will be my only computer for a very long time...this desktop is on loan.)
