All you have to do is go under recording controls, click advance on the microphone control and then check the 20db boost box.

Zeal...are you kidding, that was in the AW site's manual for that rig...it amazes me how people can buy something and be so lazy to not even think to look at the manual but will come here and say it is junk....this forum is full of things the simple reading of a manual would have solved

LOL noobs i already did that long ago. the mic is junk. i have to use a head set mic for any one to hear me. unless i lean in and talk loudly into it. also with ventrilo or team speak with the out bound maxed ( and boost on) people can not hear me . when i run a test to play back my own voice i cannot hear it. beleive me i have completly tested and set up this mic it is junk. so if you want to talk about lazy mr noob its you who are lazy to take the easy road and assume i havnt done the simple basics already. Im suprisedyou typed so many words to say it. musta had coffee that day huh?
and then theres zeal with his "rgr that" lmao another computer noob thinking he knows more then others. well maybe in 15 or 20 years you will catch up to me in computer knowledge if i stop learning now .pfff my 13 year old knows anough to turn on boost .

Ya the mic is junk. I spoke to Alienware about it and they had me reinstall all of the drivers (twice) which did nothing... it's not a software issue it's a hardware issue.

Still haven't heard anything from Alienware, am I just being impatient or are they just busy?

Banbab any luck?

Well said genius...but my Mic works just fine and from across the room..so with all your knowledge I did not see where you said that you did the "simple basics" and the reason is that you did not...thanks for that intellectual insight, none the less

PM me with your account information. I will bring up your issue with the right people and see if we can’t find a mutually satisfying solution.

Nothing wrong with a little venting.
It doesn't effect their support. Most people have been nice enough to post an update about any issues but usually some just dissapear. Thats a good sign too but its nice to have an update.

UPDATE:

Alienware is unwilling to take back there faulty product (no suprise there).

Waiting for a reply to my last PM.

entrance, That wasn't the issue that was posted. You were concerned about getting you system back. now you want a refund? I dont know whats happening but a person cant use something like this to exploit demands out of a company. I know that compensation always sound like the right thing to do but Its not a standard practice with any company. also, I dont even think they have fruit baskets. I hope everything works out for you.

I was wondering when this would start, the moderators making it sound like I'm asking for something out of the ordinary. Reread my post, I wanted a system two months ago. Now I just wanted everyone to know my situation, it doesn't really matter to me whether they decide to refund the money or not, my credit card will deal with it. I just wanted to give Alienware a chance to make it right in an open forum before it got to that point, but now I know that's where it's going.

You make it sound like a should be honored that they are going to send me a working computer, funny.

Aurora,

Do you realise that Alienwares business practices are bordering fraudulant?
Explain to me where I'm missing your logic here, that I'm trying to EXPLOIT alienware. Alienware has had $3500 of mine since January, what have I had to show for it? Nothing. Is there something I'm missing here? Are you saying that I'm in the wrong for requesting my money back? Please enlighten me.

Honestly if anyone thinks I'm being unreasonable here let me know.

c'mon, entrance. I can have opinion outside of being a moderator. Im not an official source of information and I will be the first to admit that I learn something new in this forum everyday. When I help someone, it is from years of experience that I have from this forum and on my own. moderator is only what I do in regard to keeping this forum a nice place to be at. my comment was just from my own observation. I seen you were having a problem and I sent a message to Alienware-Steve to check into it. Alienware frequents this forum but they don't just sit around watching for posts to pop up. plus this isnt an official Alienware forum. so it is kind of amazing to find an Alienware rep here to help its owners. You can also send them a message on your own if you need any help. all I did was initiate your contact with Alienware because I know that your fairly new to this forum.

You need to talk with Alienware about your issues because they wont have an open discussion about your issues. Its not professional and it is out of respect for your privacy. We only get to see what you post here in the forum and we all hope you will be completely satisfied. and...you did post something about a fruit basket. have you tried for duct tape yet.
