For Those Who Is "Dude He is getting a Dell!" - Page 2

Oh. Stupid Dell and their marketing ploys
post #22 of 59
Yeah, i got my mom a laptop a few years ago from small business as it had a good deal plus a $400 mail in rebate. Just put in your name for the business and it is all good. They don't hunt you down or anything.

It is certainly tempting but I'm not sure if I'm still going to do it myself. Also mine was configured around ~$1800, of course I'll have tax as I'm in NY. Also can't get complete care But that's what business insurance is for! Assuming I had a business...no wait, yes yes I have a business *wink wink*

dunno man, you sure your in small business? I made that mistake earlier, lol. I don't know if mine is cached in perhaps but I still can theoretically get the coupon. I am staring at it and fighting the weee devils that want me to say to heck with it and order one.

Seriously, I wouldn't even consider getting a Dell even if they were free. I don't support companies that ruin the industry with unfair business practices. I say no thanks to Dell!

i agree! keep in mind hp doesnt have nVidia Go6800 Ultrasin their notebooks; Dell has them!

Unfair Buisness practices I don't get it? We're talking about Dell, not Microsoft

Stfu about Microsoft!

I'm confused. Have anyone of you guys taken Economics of any form? (You people who are bashing that is).

IMO dell products arent the best but they arent the worst, toshiba is, lol

i have a dell laptop and a pda, the pda is by far the best pda on the market at the time, even in benchmarks its killing other pdas twice its price in performance (especially video)

dell laptops have become WAY better in quality than what they had a couple years ago, i WOULD buy a dell but for cheaper i can get the asus barebones configured to my own specs and NO OS, i hate it when people install the os and @$%$# everything up. dell will not let you buy their laptops without a copy of XP on it, they have some BS contract with MS, alot of big companies do so they have no choice. i actually called dell and said i want your laptop but i dont want your shitty ram HDD or CPU in it, i want to put it in myself, i dont care if i void the warrenty, they said no.. haha

The 35% off coupon only works 2000 times. Who knows how many times it's been used. But, make sure you are in Small Business, and make sure you pasted it right. Then if it still doesn't work, click the detail link by the coupon and see if anything else is not matched up right, such as it doesn't work for the XPS and possibly other notebooks.

how do you know it only works 2000 times? what about 2500 times? or 2550 times?

A lot of people dont seem to be aware of this: The "standard" business warrantys (i.e. any other than the free "basic" one) in the SB section INCLUDE CompleteCare - that is why they appear more expensive. In SB, you just don't get the option to choose it separately like you do in Dell Home. Personally I think you are nuts if you don't get CC but that's just this man's opinion.

I ordered with this coupon today and it worked fine, I received my confirmation email with an estimated ship date of 3.18 just a little while ago.

Unfair as in "bait and switch"? Come on, every car dealer in the country employs those practices and how many of them do you see getting bad press or legal action? There's a lot of stupid people buying computers that don't understand the components. They ought to ask someone (other than the Dell sales rep) what they need before they order. I've been asked hundreds, perhaps thousands, of times by friends, associates, even competitors what to order. Very often I push them to something that is more expensive than they wanted to order because I know it will LAST and they won't outgrow it in a year or two. Is that bait and switch?

Ah. Stupid me. Well, bye bye dealie for anyone who didn't already order. And I was in SB and ordering the 9300, BTW. But it's irrelevant now, i guess.

Right but I live in NY, and in NY and FL dell doesn't allow their complete care. Something you might wanna read in their fine print. I guess too many hurricanes in florida and too many spilled mochas in NY.
