My I6000 Review - Page 2

Not really. Its still slower than MR 9600 pro turbo so its definetely slower than MR 9700, but not much.
I am actually quite surprised the different is very little because X600 is comparable with MR 9700. That means MR X300 is only a bit slower than MR X600.

Wonder whats the score for 3dmarks 2001 and 2003 for this MR X300 ?

On the Dell.ca website right now there is no specification as to what the rotational speed is on the HDs; are they all 7200rpm?

Get "ClearType Tuner PowerToy" from here. It enhances the display.

Tell us what your monitor looks like with this.
hmm..this looks like a nice tool..

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 6000D with 60G hard drive. I called the customer service division
to make sure that they ship the 60G with 7200 rpm but they said its not an option.
The only option was 4200 rmp one.I was surprised to here this.

How did you guys manage to get the 7200rpm. Has Dell stopped selling the 7200 rpm recently?

Hard drive speed

Thanks for the reply. Did you get your 6000 when there was a free hard drive upgrade from 40GB to 60GB.
I don't remember seeing the 7200 rpm selection anytime. I could be wrong.

Hello

Hi I'm new here and to laptops but have been ghosting your forum for awhile, and I recently placed my order for the 6000d and was hoping you folks could tell me whether or not I could upgrade to the Hitachi Travelstar 7k60 7200 rpm HD from the one I had to get when I ordered the 6000d(60g 4200 HD). Only the 4200rpm is available currently on that model. Is this drive something I could change myself like a desktop, or where would I go to get that upgraded if even compatible? Thanks for your help!!!!! Niki

WSXGA+ will make everything look a little smaller, if your eyes can handle it, then go for it, my choice was the XGA

search for threads talkin about that, we have a long thread for that

You can change it , thats correct, look in the FAQ section for details, it's not hard, even a bit easier than the desktop i would say..

all around, things are too small for me for the WSXGA+
icons/buttons and pics are too small while web browsing and even little things like MSN buddy pictures are way too small.
gonna see how I like the WXGA, if I dont, ill try out the 700m
