Looks like it is no longer Legacy Electronics tiny BGA style anymore. Now it is made by K-Byte. I have never had problems with this brand before, but I wonder how the quality is, and if it will work stable in our systems.

I will let you know. I ordered some yesterday and should have it by Tuesday.

It Works!

Well, I just received the one that I ordered and it WORKS GREAT! I got just one stick to give me the 1.25 Gig... I have M6810 running the 0F08 Bios, and running Win XP Pro.

Thanks dude, that might have been the most valuable piece of info I have gotten from the forum so far.

I need to know who has used this ram:

I say this because there are very few modules that will work with these laptops. Especially if the original stick is on the inside slot.

what I don't get is why everyone is so worried whether its going to be compatible or not 95% of the time it is and if its not you can always send it back...

Darn, it looks like it's already on backorder.

Then I called them, and they said new shipment won't arrive until March 22nd.

Worked for me....

I have been lurking around here for some time now soaking up the knowledge and just wanted to let everyone know this K-Byte ram works great for me. I installed one stick in my 6810 and everything is running like a charm. I got it for $159 and see it is now down to $149. Grab this while it is in stock.....it won't last long.

One question, does the k-byte module have a larger PCB than the original samsung one. I notice alot of the cheap ram has a large PCB and lots of chips jammed on it. The reason I ask is the internal slot is hard enough to get to, and a larger PCB will make it nearly impossible.
The original Samsung ram measures 1.25" wide and 2.66" long, the new K-Byte memory measures 1.27" wide and 2.675" long. The extra width is due to the second row of tiny bga memory modules on each side (eight total per side) that overhang the edge of the pc board by about .020. I had no issues installing it but I have not seen the internal slot to know if this would cause any problems as far as fit goes.

I just ordered it; since it's on backorder right now, it will arrive at the end of next week. Xing my fingers.

Yeah, and more than likely you will get good chips on a cheaper 4 or 5 layer pcb but it will still work. I have Samsung chips on a really cheesy module in my desktop and it's been working fine for about 3 years now.
