|point am trying to make would it make your internet surfing faster... it should ... like your looking through websites you will notice the difference between connecting on a 10/100 card then a 10/100/1000 , especailly later on when cable providers are gonna offer higher speeds.....and i do dl songs.........bascially what am saying is that one would be able to surf faster with a 10/100/1000 then a 10/100 network card..........and am not talking wireless now am talking about having your laptop connected to a high speed cable.....
Your broadband internet connection is most likely an order of magnitude (factor of 10) slower than than the slowest ethernet protocol (10 mbps) - ie. a GREAT cable internet connection may be as high as 1 Mbps. The size of your internal "pipe" won't matter, the most you'll be able to move from the internet to your computer will be limited by the internet and your broadband connection, not your local network.
As FearNo1 said, the only benefit you'll see on a home network is when you're transferring large files within the network.
