Sorry for the thread resurrection, but 3dmark2k3 does test overall system performance. BUT, when calculating the final score, 2,3 relies waaayyyy too heavily on gpu performance, as the previous poster stated. 2k1 was a much better benchmark for overall system performance. Aquamark is a good total system benchmark also. GPU drivers are even optimized just to improve scores on 3dmark 2k3 now since they know that it helps sell their products.
For a good gpu test, run 2k3
For a total system test, run 2k1 or Aquamark
Proof: Run 2 tests on 2k3. One with x cpu and x video card. Another with x video card but with cpu overclocked. Score difference WILL (probably) go up, but not near enough...
Oh, and Divine_Madcat....I built an inline watercooling loop with an Eheim 1048, Tygon tubing, Dtek TC-4 Rev. 2 waterblock, and Dtek Pro Core Radiator. It was AWESOME!! If you build your own loop, be sure to post pics and document your progress. I'd like to relive it again. I had to take the loop out when I moved off to college due to portability issues. It was all inside the case, but it added a lot of weight and required a good bit of maitenance. I never had any leaks though
