What, you can't do basic math?

$3,370.00 x 35% = $1,179.50 discount.

$3,370.00 - $1,179.50 = $2,190.50

How is that a mistake?

BTW, if you're talking about using this coupon: Coupon Code: G8RDP03S03R6LC

Then NO, you cannot use it on the 9300. Per the terms of the coupon:

Save 35% on select Inspiron notebook purchases $1499 or more with coupon (before tax and shipping)! Offer valid on select Inspiron 700m, 600m, 6000, 1150, and 1000's. May not be combinable with Dell Home Deals of the Week, Outrageous Deals, Inspiron 9200's, Inspiron 9300's, Inspiron XPS's, Inspiron XPS Gen 2's, dollars off, percentages off or select other promotions. Only one coupon may be applied per cart at checkout. Coupon code expires after first 4000 uses, or earlier if offer is terminated earlier. Offers subject to change. View details in My Cart. Enter coupon code at checkout to receive this offer.

I just tried, and it will not apply to the 9300 or any of the excluded systems.

edited my post, please re-read it above.

I tried to apply the coupon to a 9300, and it will not work. How did you get it to work, or were you just doing the math?

That's not a mistake Lulology, a lot of use have ordered with that coupon. It does work with the 9300 (not the XPS 2) and yes, it is the deal of the year from Dell.

Yeah, it works fine. I ordered mine with that coupon.

so we should not expect to get a better deal then the 35% off right.. cause i hear some people are waiting to see if there would be a better deal..... so far i cant see dell giving away 50% off.. so i may look into ordering the 9300 later on today.. especally with the 35% off... thanks

I stand corrected, that's a Dell SB coupon, not the Dell Home coupon I thought. I just verified that yes, it does work on the 9300. I wonder if it works on the 700m, and if it would beat the deal I got last week on the 700m in Dell Home...? Time to find out!

edit: Nope, it's decent, but comes out to about $200 more than I paid in Dell Home last week (of course, I used a $100 Concession Coupon too.) Plus I got Dell to send me the 8x dual-layer DVD burner for free after calling and complaining about the price drop this week.

The only way you would get a better deal is if dell gave it in home and you then didn't have to pay taxes.

I think they are saying they are waiting to see if there is a better deal on the XPS 2. 35% off the 9300 is, I believe, as good as it is going to get until a year or two goes by and they start selling refurbs.

Until the XPS 2 has a better discount (right now it is 10% in Home or $450 in Small Business - you do the math) this 35% off coupon is a near unbeatable deal. I wouldn't count on much of a discount on the XPS 2 until after it ships and even then I seriously doubt it will be as much as this one is for the 9300.

I got a very slightly better (saved maybe $30) deal using the 20% off in Home combined with an EPP discount of 12%...which may not be available to everyone.

I still doesn't see how you got a better deal than the 35% off as your deal should be 29.6% off (1 - .8 * .88).

taxes and cheaper upgrade options in EPP? I'm guessing
post #16 of 65
I got 256MB has I have ordered 1 GB seperate. Small Business doesn't add a lot of junk but I will probably still do a reinstall.

That's my guess too although I think EPP now charges taxes in all states which is annoying. When I priced them out for mine, the EPP was about $200 more.

Its a good deal as long as you do not add options to the base laptop. Dell is charging high prices for the small biz section for the 9300 when compared to home section.

surely the 35% is applicable to the upgrades as well (off final price)? although i'm not sure if that'll still cost less than buying separate from newegg etc.
