Home only has taxes in states where they have Kiosks. It's a limited (<10) number of states.
New Jersey has no kiosks. They didn't charge taxes, but now they do all of a sudden.

Ughh.. decisions decisions... Does someone know if home is going to offer this deal on the 9300? That would be the ultimate since I can use my $100 conssession coupon!

another thing which warranty is better the 3 yr home or 3yr business....

ok so here is the thing the difference in the home and sb configuration is $102.07.... now both laptops have all the same specs... small business being the cheapest... what are the benifits one gets from small business and home.... another thing which warranty is better .. i have on the to configured laptops i put 3 yrs... but each are different which is better?? and why

I already posted that business only allows service on next business day. With home you get the option of nights/weekends for onsite service. That's the major difference between the two.

another question, does dell allow one to use 2 credit cards to purchase a laptop...like half and half
post #47 of 65
Some people don't have enough credit one. I have a credit caerd with only $1000 limit, but only 6% finance charge, so I'd prefer to use that if need be. But if the system is more than that, I couldn't - unless I can split the payment up, which Dell allows. It's probably not a COMMON thing, but handy.

so you sure small business gives: 3Yr Ltd Warr,At-Home Service, and Tech Support except nights and weekends.......cause home explains all that...

cause when u choose a warranty in small business all it says is: 3 Years On-site Business Standard Plan
post #49 of 65
You can split it on two different cards if needed.

2 or 3-Year Limited Warranty2 and Next-Business-Day On-Site3 Service

Thus only weekdays and probably non-holidays but it doesn't say what holiday schedule they follow.

That's from the comparison screen when you click details.

SB support is 24/7 including any holidays on the other side of the planet

I meant onsite support, not phone support.

I don't think that's quite true. Their tech support may be 24/7, but their customer support keeps normal business hours.

Right now they are offering a $100 rebate if you get a 4 year warranty and the additional cost of the 4 year warranty works out to about $100...so you wind up $25 ahead with an extra year. On the other hand, with the exception of the 1 year mail-in plan, it looks like the Small Business warranties may include CompleteCare...which is interesting since I live in Florida where they say that isn't available.

One more thing...the Small Business includes a printer which is likely junk, however you could always trash the printer and sell the ink carts on eBay for another $30-40 or so.

4 year support isn't an option in SB I believe.

Also, if you call they will likely trade out the printer for something else (snap cover or such).

Right...4 year isn't an option for SB, however right now a 4 year warranty costs ~$25 LESS than a 3 year warranty does in Home with EPP so that's definately something else to consider.
True, but the 3 year is $32.50 (-tax) cheaper than 2 year in small business since it costs $97.50 (after discount) to upgrade and has a rebate of $130.

Makes it difficult to compare the two
True, and thus the home and small biz sales are pretty close, esp when you add the taxes small biz charge. I got charged almost $200

Note, when viewing the upgrades in home they are already factoring in the 20% off so the upgrades appear to be cheaper when they aren't.

Darn Dell LCD screens... I would be getting a 9300 with the Go6800/256 if it had the High quality tier 1 Sony/Fuju type screen. But these 3rd tier screens Dell uses is a big neg.
