Sorry for the caps, i copy pasted from my order form.
Which one is better? they all come as standard in xps2/9300.
I heard the dell is better?

I'm getting 2 systems and they each have different wireless cards.

Uh, on the Dell website? Sheesh...it's an internal WLAN card, you don't need pics of it.

I was just kidding. My thought was that it was the photo section as well. Why was this post in here.

You're kind of comparing apples and oranges IMHO as one card is B/G while the other is A/B/G. If I'm not mistaken, the 1350 would be more apples to apples with the 2200. When you configure a laptop on Dell's website you can click on the "help me choose link" in the wireless card section and their are detailed specifications as to what each card offers and supports. I have the 2200 and it fits my needs fine, works well and has good signal strength with no disconnects. I connect to a Linksys WAP. I am also able to see other wireless networks in my neighborhood, but their strengths are much weakier as they are 350 yds away.

I thought A was for business applications and much higher throughput requirements. But I'm no expert here.

No, 802.11a used 5GHz, vs 802.11b/g which uses 2.4GHz. 802.11a is 54mbs as well, but has less range than 802.11b/g.

The reason I've been comparing the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG vs. the Dell TM1450 is that I have both cards, and the Intel one is crap. The Dell card gets better signal, no disconnects, etc.

I'd suggest neither of the two. An Atheros with AR5004/5006 would be a beeter choice. Get the cheapest from Dell and change it.

I have the 2200 in my 9300 and i love it. I'm in florida right now. My grandparents do not have any type on connection to the internet. I started it up and I picked up 4 wireless networks. I connected to the one with the best signal. The houses arent close together too. I have a good signal from one of the nieghbors. I was impressed.

I get pretty good connection from the 2200 as well. Hopefully the one Dell is replacing the current one will do fine as well.

I have the 2200 as well, and I've had no connection issues at work, home, or my gf's apartment. I have yet to try the on-campus wireless LAN, though.

I know that Notebook like HP, Sony, other brands always have a switch (on / off) for the WiFi wireless on side of the notebook but none of seeing where the switch on DELL's notebook? Can you tell me where switch is for the XPS Gen2 or 6000d?
