Sony MDR EX71 headphones - opinions?

I was wondering if anybody on this forum has it, they seem to be pretty good headphones but I have heard that the bass is too exaggerated, or the line breaks after a while leaving only one speaker working. Can anyone with a pair give me opinion? Also, is the right line longer than the left (to wrap around your neck, so only one wire is dangling... I don't know how to explain properly, but basically like the ones that md players come with). Thanks.

I own these since one year and they are great for the price. The sound is properly rendered and the bass are not too exagerated.

You are right when you say that one line is longer than another, that's pretty anoying if you don't wrap it around your neck.

Another problem : the line cord is way too long if you choose to use the biggest available and with the short one it's way too short ... go figure.

But as far as sound is concerned they are great for the price, no competition (if you want better that's pretty expensive)

Yeah - they're a very nice set of earbuds. Look good too.

I loved mine but I didn't like the long cord on one side and short cord on the other side. I'm now using the ER6i Etymotic's and so far they're my favorite - great for standing still but terrible for jogging because they are so isolating (and every time the cord rubs against your clothing you can hear it). The best for jogging are the Bang & Olufsen A8's.

thank you everyone, I am going to purchase a set of black ones.

fredolo - I must be too asian or something, I hate it when they make them the same length because I'm used to wrapping one around the the neck

murphyja - I've never actually heard b & o headphones, would you say they are better then shure? e3c in my ears were I can only dream what e5c sound like...

Good choice. They sound teriffic. The only problem I have with them is that running with them is impossibe since they fall out. But other than that they are the best headphones around for the money.
