Sounds fine....my order has been sitting at the boxing stage since last night. Hopefully, the computers get on a flight Sunday from Malaysia, so that it arrives in the US on Monday. Then release to UPS on Tuesday and everyone should have it by the end of the week. Fingers crossed!

Luology, I ordered mine on the same day as yours 3/8, and on 3/11 5pm EST it is still sitting in the pre-production stage, production has not even began.

Hmm...mines a 3/21 ship also...been sitting in production last couple days. (ordered only on 3/8) They got plenty of time...would be nice to get early for sure. My All-In-1 Printer/Scanner model 942 arrived yesterday...very nice. A friggen steal for $28 ($149 regular) it's pretty trick and works well. Now my Epson R200 can be used mostly for my media printing only (I use printable CDR's/DVD's) and the family can use this thing.

my 9300 is being tested!!! Need some advice setting it up when I get it.

The spec's are as follows:

Centrino 760(2GHZ)
17 INCH TRUE LIFE,WUXGA
1GB,DDR2,533MHZ,2 DIMM
256MB NVIDIA 6800
60GB HARD DRIVE, 7.2K RPM
24X COMBO CD-RW/DVD
INTEL PRO/WRLS 2915,A/B/G
80 WHR,9-CELL,LION,PRIM BATT
3 Year BUSINESS COMPLETE CARE (includes on-site repair and accidental damage coverage)
Windows XP Pro

Total Price including taxes, shipping and handling: $2570

I will also have a $130 rebate, so price after rebate is $2430.

What I want to know is:

-if people are getting the 9300 with similar spec's at a significantly lower price.

-whether or not I should do a clean re-install. If so, whether I can use the re-install disk and just opt out of some of the useless software.

-if people are using different video driver that has been tested as stable or if they are going with the default Dell drivers.

-if people think this is a good primary computer for gaming as well as business. I got this for business use but it will be my main gaming computer.

Thanks for the help.

Did you use any of the recent coupons? I got pretty much the same thing you did with the following differences: Got the WXGA+ screen, the Intel 2200 wireless, a dvd writer and got the 9 cell battery as an extra battery instead of primary (was only $20 more). My price was ~$2300 before the rebate and got a free PoS Dell printer too.

Undecided on this, but as long as I can uninstall some of the larger apps Dell has on there I see no reason to go thru a clean reinstall.

I'll probably grab the latest certified forceware drivers from nVidia's site.

Should be great for both, though if you're going to use for business I hope you have good eyes for those small wuxga fonts :-)

Well, you obviously used some coupon to get yours for that price from Small Business. I used the 35% off coupon that everyone was using earlier this week.

Can you give me the coupon code...I want to re-price it to see if I can get a better deal. It seems that your price is $200 better than mine. I suppose the UXGA screen offsets the price of the dvd-rw. Did you also get the 3 year warranty with accidental coverage?

Same warranty. I also chose to get the 9 cell battery as an extra battery since that was only $20 more than upgrading the 6 cell and gave me a spare battery. The cost of the dvd-rw upgrade I got probably equals or comes close to equaling the cost of your upgraded screen and the 2915 networking card.

So basically, I missed the 35% off discount coupon. I ordered two laptops over the phone with a customer rep on March 5th and he told me I had the best discount. I am so made I can spit! I'm very tempted to cancel the order for the two laptops I ordered!!!

Do you have the extension # for the sales man? accuse him of lying about the discount, although he migth have been talking about the best discount for home, the 35% was for small business. doesnt hurt to call.

Xixan, I have almost the system except that I got 1 year warranty, DVD burner, 6-cell battery, bluetooth module and spare AC adapter. The total price came out to be $2029 after tax and 2nd day shipping and 35% off from Dell SB.

Regarding the model number on the gddr that is used in the 9300: it appears to be gddr1 because it doesn't have the ODT function that gddr2 and gddr3 have. It does however, utilize lower power consumption of 1.8V - 1.9V though, unlike standard gddr which uses 2.5V. Seems kind of odd, maybe that's what we can attribute the huge overclocking overhead to, that some of the users have reported.

I just installed the nvidia forceware v76.10 driver from guru 3d and force the card driver installed as GeForce 6800 GT, haven't tried any benchmarks yet, running off to work now, will keep you guys posted...

I got the same config for a little over 2200 with shipping with the 35% off coupon. That doesn't include the rebate. Ours are identical to warranty and all that.
